The Talma golf complex lies half an hour’s drive north of Helsinki and it comprises two 18-hole layouts (the 6,877-yard Master and 6,620-yard Laakso courses), a par three 9-hole course, sheltered driving range and excellent practice facilities.
Designed by Henrik Wartiainen and originally opened in 1990 as a 27-hole amenity, Talma has since been expanded to its current 45-hole configuration.
The European PGA were so pleased with Talma that their Challenge Tour schedule included the Finnish Challenge competition three years running here between 2001 and 2003.
Laid out in a parkland-cum-forest setting, The Masters course is more than just a walk in the woodland for those golfers who go round here. In particular, your short game must be on song, especially early in the round as two of the four par threes on the card are played at holes 2 and 4 and on the back nine, you must also avoid tripping up at the short 15th, played to an island green surrounded by water.
