Unveiled in 2004, the Granada Golf Course at Hot Springs Village is an Ed Ault and Tom Clark design extending to more than 7,000 yards. The signature 18th hole features a waterfall that meanders along the entire length of the fairway.
There are 171 golf holes in operation at Hot Springs Village, comprising eight public layouts (seven 18-hole courses plus one 27-hole set-up) and one private 18-hole course, the Diamante. The Granada was the last of these tracks to appear, opening for business in 2004.
In The American Golf Resort Guide, author Daniel Wexler writes: “the Granada course sits at the property’s northeast corner and features a demanding new millennium design whose slightly longer back nine carries the day.
Early on, it is highlighted by the 515-yard 12th (where a creek divides the fairway and flanks the green), before a big finish includes the 420-yard pond-guarded 16th and the 444-yard 18th, a dogleg left around still another pond.”
